Feudal Japan: What is the difference between an emperor and a shogun, and who had more power?

 Well, you may think the Emperor has more power but in fact the Shogun is the one with the most power. The Emperor has ruled over Japan for some time but that dose not nesiceraly mean he has more power,
 Shogun is a military rank that has a lot of power with it.
